Fall into relaxation: Top 10 treatments to enjoy at the spa

Ready to send the kids back to school or are those muscles exhausted after a fantastic summer? Check out these amazing spa treatments that'll get you relaxed and glowing in no time!

  1. Signature massage: A signature massage is perfect for guests that are still new to massage therapy, prefer lighter pressure, or just want a full-body basic massage. This treatment generally lasts 50 minutes and most therapists will ask if you have any muscle groups you’d like them to pay extra special attention to. Don’t be afraid to speak up during your massage if the pressure isn’t right or if you want more time on a specific area.
  2. Deep tissue massage: Deep tissue massage is designed for those that want extra firm pressure and really want to work kinks or overworked muscles. Deep tissue is similar to Swedish massage with an emphasis on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and tendons. We see a lot of athletes request this treatment to help with chronic muscle tension. Plus, the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found in 2010, that deep tissue massage reduces stress and boosts mood through the release of oxytocin.
  3. Tao stone therapy massage: The art of Tao massage is thought to restore the body’s natural flow of energy and bring the body back into balance. Combine that with hot stones and you’ve got a full rejuvenation treatment. The heat from the stones helps relax the muscles so the therapist can massage the deeper layers of the muscles. If you feel sleepy during your treatment, don’t worry, the heat has a sedative effect that’s common, so just allow yourself to relax during the treatment.
  4. Aromatherapy massage: Need an extra mood booster? Enhance your massage with aromatherapy! These essential oils are added to your massage and many of our blends can reduce stress, reduce anxiety, or promote better sleep. Many of our blends use lavender, mint, or rosemary to add an extra touch of healing to your massage.
  5. Ambre massage: If you already enjoy aromatherapy and want to take it to the next level, you may want to book an ambre massage. This practice also involves oil, but it’s heated oil from a candle. Don’t worry though, these candles melt with your body temperature so the oil will never be too hot on your skin. Again, if anything during your massage is uncomfortable be sure to talk to your massage therapist as they want this experience to be enjoyable and relaxing for you.
  6. Restorative facial: After a great season under the summer sun, come in and enjoy a restorative facial to balance your skin and give it the moisture it deserves!
  7. Microdermabrasion facial: Healthy skin needs scrubbing and exfoliating if you want to see how the professionals do it, try a microdermabrasion facial. Your skin will look younger and feel softer after this treatment.
  8. Manicure & pedicure: During the summer, a manicure and pedicure can be our most popular treatments but we think the changing season is the perfect reason to give your nails and toes a bit of attention and change them up with a new color.
  9. Body scrub: Like we noted with the microdermabrasion facial, scrubs can be a great way to rejuvenate your skin! A body scrub will take away layers of aging or dead skin cells and promote healthy cell growth. Your skin will also enjoy the hydration it receives, leaving you with soft and smooth skin.
  10. Wax: Don’t run away just yet! Many of our guests say they’ve experienced little to no pain during their waxing treatment. Waxing can be a great addition to the start of a vacation as this hair removal process has longer lasting effects than traditional shaving. Worst case scenario, we’ll direct you to Red Restaurant & Bar for a soothing cocktail after your appointment, but we don’t think you’ll need it!
